Get FileMaker Pro

You will need to install the latest version of FileMaker Pro to access PubGizmo. You can download a 45-day trial version by clicking here.

Once your subscription is confirmed, we will email you a license file, which you will use to authorize the software for the duration of your subscription.

When you receive this file, put it somewhere accessible on your computer, e.g., your computer's desktop.

When you run FileMaker Pro for the first time, it will request a license key or license file. Point it at this file, and that will register the software.

First Time on Each Computer

You'll need to follow a few steps to configure FileMaker to access your instance of PubGizmo on our server. This only needs to be done once on each computer:

  1. Open FileMaker Pro
  2. Go to the File menu
  3. Select Hosts > Show Hosts...
  4. Click the grey rectangle with four dots at the upper-right of the window
  5. Enter the Network File Path as follows: fmnet:/neutrinodata.ddns.net/[SolutionName], where [SolutionName] is (generally) the name of your press, without spaces, and without the square brackets, e.g., fmnet:/neutrinodata.ddns.net/MyPress
  6. When the splash window appears, click the Login button
  7. Enter the credentials you were provided. Note that your username and password are case sensitive.

Accessing PubGizmo Going Forward

There are a few ways to open PubGizmo next time, after setting it up using the above directions.

Recent Items

Open FileMaker Pro and go File > Recent, and from that list, select your solution.

Save as a Favourite

FileMaker Pro allows you to save your favourite solutions in a list.

  1. Open FileMaker Pro
  2. Go File > Favorites > Show Favorites...
  3. Click the + Add App... button
  4. Enter/paste the path, per step 5 in First Time on Each Computer.

Once you've done that, you can open it later by opening FileMaker Pro and going File > Favorites and selecting your solution.

Open Automatically When You Launch FileMaker Pro

You can tell FileMaker Pro to open your solution every time you launch it:

  1. Open FileMaker Pro
  2. Go Preferences/Settings
  3. Click the checkbox At startup, open file
  4. Enter/paste the path, per step 5 in First Time on Each Computer.
